IT_EUREKA

2021

In 2021, business accelerator Sigma Software Labs became the driver of the competition. About 100 teams applied, but only 17 made it to the semi-final for a mentoring program with experts from the fields of business, investment, finance, marketing, and software development.

During the competition, the teams took part in an alternative audience vote on the pages of the Ukrainian media about the creative economy VECTOR, the best teams received their own PR materials from the editors.

Only 10 teams reached the final in 2021. They pitched their projects during the online broadcast to the jury of the competition: Pitch Day 1 and Pitch Day 2. The jury included representatives of venture capital funds, management of leading IT companies in the industry, and members of specialized associations. The IT_EUREKA winner received UAH 100,000 (USD 3,500 approx.) as a no-equity grant.

2020

2020 is the year of the competition migration to the online format. From among 100 applications, 17 of the coolest startups were selected, which continued the fight for the main prize in the final. The teams have been preparing for Final Pitch day for almost six months. About 100 hours of individual and group mentoring sessions were held with technical specialists, business experts, leading specialists in financial, investment, and business issues. The final of the competition was held online and lasted for 2 days.

Nine members of the jury — representatives of international companies, investment funds, startup communities, and educational organizations chose the best teams. 2019

In 2019, the IT_EUREKA competition was held as part of the All-Ukrainian Innovation Festival, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. More than 50 applications from startups from all over Ukraine were received to participate in the competition. The teams  competed for the main prize from Sigma Software — UAH 55,000 (USD 2,000 approx.).

2017

In 2017, the all-Ukrainian competition IT_EUREKA started not only with an updated team of organizers, but also in a new hackathon format. Teams from all over Ukraine took part in the competition. They had only 24 hours to develop an innovative solution to solve current troubles in the education system and present it in English to an international jury team.

2014 - 2017

During 2014-2017, the event was held in various cities of Ukraine with support of several universities: Odesa National Polytechnic University, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. During this period, more than 1,500 participants took part in it and more than 600 projects were presented.

2014 - 2015

During 2014 and 2015, the project was supported by Sigma Group and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. After the end of the Tempus program, Sigma Software became the main organizer of the competition.

2014

IT_EUREKA! — startup competition, founded by the Tempus educational program in 2014. They appealed to Ukrainian universities with the initiative to develop and support innovative and entrepreneurial activities among students.
